This is a lovely replica from the Egyptian Book of the Dead depicting the "weighing of the heart" ceremony. During this ceremony, the heart of a recently deceased is weighed against the feather of Ma'at (truth and order). The ceremony is carried out by Anubis (God of the dead) and recorded by Thoth (God of writing and knowledge). If the heart weighs the same or less, the deceased is welcomed into the afterlife. If it is heavier, the deceased is devoured by Ammit. This piece has been professionally framed and measures 8" x 6". Excellent condition.
